FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. What are some of the other characters in DOWN SOUTH?

A. Several other characters have appeared who may or may not reappear in future cartoons. They are:

Bubba - he is the greasy mechanic who appeared in the first cartoon published in the July 2007 issue of Y'all Magazine. Bubba is a "good ol' boy." He is a rough, but well-meaning fellow who runs Bubba's Towing in a rural Mississippi town. He knows everything there is to know about cars. He usually can be seen driving down the road with his black lab, Rex, riding on the roof of the truck cab.

Vardeman - appeared in the August 2007 issue praying over his food and thanking the Lord for "keeping the Yankees away." Vardeman makes no bones about his dislike for northerners because "they come down h'ya an' won't go home!" If it was up to him, he'd put border crossings at the state line and require passports before letting any northerner in. He doesn't hate northerners, he just doesn't like them.

Topper - the polite, gentel clothier who works at Brenamans Fine Clothiers, in Charleston, South Carolina. Topper considers himself a southern "gen'lman," a purist and an uncompromising snob when it comes to what is the proper style and dress for a southern gen'lman.

Q. When did DOWN SOUTH first appear in print?

A.
DOWN SOUTH first appeared in the June 2007 issue of Y'all Magazine.

Q. How long have Gordon and Maude been married?

A. We don't know. Maude says forty years, although Gordon will try and tell you it seems more like a thousand.

Q. What the hell is gizzard goulash?

A. We don't know. And Mr. Enzweiler won't tell us. When you find out, would you let us know?

Q. Can I find "Down South" printed in any other publications?

A. Presently, DOWN SOUTH appears exclusively in Y'all Magazine and on the web at yall.com and at yall-downsouth.com.

Q. This cartoon is great! Will there ever be a DOWN SOUTH book?

A.
Eventually, there will be a DOWN SOUTH book.

Q. Can I use DOWN SOUTH characters or images on my personal web site?
